Summary of your role:
The role is to assist the Lead Coach on the delivery of the Shape Up programme. Shape Up is an ongoing weight management programme delivering 12 weeks of 90-minute weight management sessions. Each session is split into an educational workshop and an exercise class, with a strong focus on togetherness and enjoyment. The course is delivered to adults of an unhealthy weight aged between 18 and 65.
Your roles and responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Work cooperatively with the Lead Coach to deliver group exercise classes participants are excited to return to each week as they meet their weight loss targets
- Support the Lead Coach in bringing to life PowerPoint presentations prewritten by the Watford FC Trust with information on motivation, nutrition, and exercise
- Facilitate group cohesion by building an enjoyable environment for participants to learn and exercise in, and by guiding informed discussions around health and wellbeing
- Assist the Lead Coach in ensuring the safety of Shape Up participants
- Collect participant data (e.g. height, weight, waist)
You must have:
- Level 2 Personal Training Qualification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to deliver to and motivate adults through physical activity classes
- A means of transport to travel to and around Harrow and Hertfordshire
- An understanding of the Trust commitment to EDI & Safeguarding
You will ideally have:
- First aid qualification
- Experience working with adults in a fitness, sport, or lifestyle context
- Experience teaching group exercise
- A solid understanding of nutrition for weight loss
- A full and valid UK driving license & car access
